We are proud to share the successful completion of a powerful and purpose-driven day featuring the Inauguration of the Single Women Action Network (SWAN) and the Survivor Forum, organized by Safe Hands Human Resources Organization with the collaboration of Human Rights Advocacy and research foundation Chennai on 29th Sept 2025 at Thiruvarur District.
The morning began with the official launch of SWAN, focusing on the challenges faced by single women and the need for collective advocacy, legal awareness, and dedicated welfare support. The sessions brought forward meaningful discussions on:
•Rights and welfare of single women
•Importance of community federations
•Legal awareness on DV, POSH, and POCSO Acts
•Building strong support structures
Post-lunch, the Survivor Forum created a space for survivors to be heard, supported, and empowered. Key highlights included:
•Insights on the POA Act
•Real-life survivor case presentations
•Discussions on forming a solidarity and support forum
•Dialogue on engaging with government bodies for long-term support
